Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick felt it necessary to hold a meeting with his players in the immediate aftermath of their meeting with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have provided an insight into the details of as much.

Barcelona were of course back in action yesterday evening, making the trip to Madrid for a La Liga clash with the aforementioned Rayo.

Their final fixture heading into the international break, the Blaugrana were no doubt desperate for all three points, in efforts to keep pace with arch rivals Real Madrid atop the table.

When all was said and done, however, Barca were instead forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

This came after Fran Pérez cancelled out Lamine Yamal’s first-half opener, en route to an eventual 1-1 draw.

The visitors were heavily criticised for the level of their performance at Vallecas, some way short of the standard set en route to a domestic treble last season.

Post-match, Hansi Flick, in turn, held a tactical analysis session with his players.

As per a report from MD, eager not to see his squad depart for international duty without first breaking down their shortcomings against Rayo, the German held a dressing room sit-down, detailing the following:

‘The intensity of the game, the team’s lack of clarity when it came to controlling the ball, the defensive errors that led to Rayo creating dangerous chances, and the team’s unexpected inability to create scoring opportunities.’
