According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Villarreal are looking to resolve their goalkeeping set-up this summer, with Diego Conde emerging as the likeliest to leave amid a three-man contest for one position.
Conde had the fewest opportunities in 2025/2026, which leaves him vulnerable in planning for the new project. Villarreal currently have Luiz Júnior, Arnau Tenas and Conde, three goalkeepers with real ambitions of game time.
The coaching staff and sporting department must define roles before the new season. In goal, trust, continuity and hierarchy carry extra weight, so the club want to avoid a bottleneck becoming a problem during the campaign.
Weeks ago Sevilla made an initial approach that did not become an offer that satisfied Villarreal. Now, newly promoted LaLiga EA Sports duo Deportivo de A Coruña and Racing de Santander have also enquired about the Madrid-born keeper.
A possible exit for Conde would streamline a packed area and give him the minutes he needs. The market will be key to finding a formula that suits all parties, and Villarreal aim to settle the matter before the new campaign.
