Diógenes yet to concede for Santos as Coritiba visit in Copa do Brasil | OneFootball

Diógenes is expected to start for Santos against Coritiba on Wednesday at 19:30 at Vila Belmiro, the first leg of the Copa do Brasil fifth phase. According to Diario Do Peixe, he steps in for Gabriel Brazão, who has been granted leave after the death of his father, José Roberto, on Monday.

The 25-year-old academy graduate faces one of the most significant outings since joining the senior squad. Despite limited minutes, he has not conceded a goal in first-team action for Santos.

His debut came in October 2024, a 2-0 win over Ituano in Série B, when he covered for the suspended Brazão. He was rarely troubled, but made two saves to preserve the clean sheet.

He featured again in September 2025 in a 1-1 draw away to Atlético Mineiro in Belo Horizonte. Coming on in the second half after Brazão was injured, he produced three key stops late on to secure the point.

Signed in 2020 after youth spells at Avaí and Internacional, he rose to prominence during Santos’ run to runners-up in the 2022 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior. He was decisive in penalty shootouts against Mirassol and Ferroviária.
