Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku says it would be “crazy” to dismiss his side’s hopes of going through in the Champions League despite a 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid.
A Federico Valverde hat-trick saw City well beaten in the first leg of their round of 16 tie in Madrid.
But Doku says his side still have the belief they can pull off a spectacular comeback.
“It would be crazy if I said there was no chance,” he said.
“They scored three goals against us so why can’t we?
“Playing at the Etihad, we will need our fans of course to put pressure (on them) but everything is possible in football. We still believe.”
Doku also says the support of the City fans will be crucial if his team is to progress.
“If they are with us, it’s a completely different game,” he said.
“We really need them to push us, put pressure on them and to hear them because it has a lot of influence on us on the pitch.
“We trust that they will be there for us and will cheer us on.”
