Eintracht Frankfurt are plotting a January loan move for Newcastle United striker William Osula, according to Sky Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Newcastle brought in Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa to replace Alexander Isak this summer. Osula is behind the duo in the pecking order.

Wissa is closing in on his return to full fitness and could make his debut after the international break. His return could force Osula to consider a move to Germany.

Frankfurt are looking to bolster their attacking options to boost their chances of competing across all competitions, and the Newcastle striker is on their radar.

Previously praised by manager Eddie Howe for his ‘good technical skills‘, Osula will be desperate to prove himself elsewhere. A move to the Bundesliga giants could appeal to him.

The German club came close to signing the Danish striker on summer deadline day, agreeing personal terms with him.

However, Newcastle turned them down as Howe was not keen on losing him at the time, because a move for Wissa had not been completed.

They are expected to be open to letting him go in January, as he needs to be playing regularly to keep developing.

Woltemade has hit the ground running since moving to Newcastle, with four goals to his name in seven appearances.

His form has made it impossible for Osula to secure regular playing chances, and life on the bench would get tougher once Wissa finally starts playing.

A temporary exit is best for both parties, and the Dane will be desperate to show what he can do when given a consistent run of games.
