Strasbourg president Marc Keller has revealed that Emanuel Emegha ‘refused a dozen offers’ before choosing to join Chelsea.

Emegha is reportedly set to join Chelsea next year, but he remains on loan with Strasbourg, and their fans are unhappy with the deal.

The Strasbourg ultras held up banners against Emegha and booed him when presented with his Ligue 1 Player of the Month award for August.

Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior and Keller have since publicly supported Emegha. Keller also revealed that Emegha rejected multiple offers before signing for Chelsea.

Emegha was considered one of the finest young strikers in Ligue 1 last season.

He bagged 14 goals in 27 appearances and helped Strasbourg secure an impressive seventh-place finish in Ligue 1. That return underlines why Chelsea were so keen to act early.

The future Chelsea ace has started this season brightly, scoring three goals in four games, including a brace against Brondby IF in the Europa Conference League qualifiers.
