Emersonn strikes late as Toulouse climb to ninth

Toulouse beat Lorient 1-0 at the Stadium de Toulouse as substitute Emersonn struck in the 81st minute to lift the hosts from 11th to ninth in Ligue 1.

Late in the first half, Guillaume Restes tipped away Darline Yongwa's drive as Lorient threatened.

After the restart, Emersonn first forced Yvon Mvogo into a low save, then finished high from a tight angle after Cristian Casseres' pass.

Seven minutes were added. In the first minute of second half stoppage time, Sambou Soumano shot over. Later, Restes saved from Arsène Kouassi and Emersonn set up Mário Sauer, who missed from close range in the seventh minute of second half stoppage time.

Toulouse recorded 12 attempts, with four on target. Lorient had 58.2% possession but mustered just two efforts on target from seven attempts.
