Alphonso Davies has been one of FC Bayern’s most important players for years. Despite his recurring injuries, the Canadian is still regarded as one of the best left-backs in the world. This has apparently attracted the attention of a top English club, with Manchester United stepping up their efforts to sign the Bayern star, according to media reports
The 25-year-old has already played 239 competitive matches for the German record champions and has been one of the most influential figures in the Munich defense for years. Nevertheless, the current season has been anything but ideal for Davies so far
The Canadian missed all of the preparation following his cruciate ligament rupture and has already had to cope with further setbacks after his comeback. The left-back is currently out again – this time due to a pulled thigh

As reported by the portal SportBoom, Manchester United are said to be keeping a close eye on the Bayern professional, making the signing of a new left-back at Old Trafford next summer their „top priority“
Davies has been on the Red Devils‘ wish list for some time, according to the report, but now those responsible are said to be ready to step up their efforts considerably
According to SportBoom, United would be prepared to pay a transfer fee of up to 80 million euros for the Canadian international
Despite the alleged transfer plans from England, a switch currently seems rather unlikely. FC Bayern made great efforts to tie Davies to the club in the long term as recently as February 2025. In the end, the left-back signed a contract until 2030. This puts Munich in an extremely comfortable negotiating position
Davies himself also emphasized how comfortable he feels in Munich when he extended his contract: „I am very happy to have extended my contract with this great club. I came to FC Bayern at 18 and wanted to learn as much as possible every day to become one of the best in my position.“
The Canadian also made it clear at the time that his story at FC Bayern is far from over. „Now I’m looking forward to another five years together. I’ve already achieved a lot here – but there’s more to come,“ Davies explained after signing
In view of this long-term contract and its significance for the team, it seems questionable whether even an offer in the region of 80 million euros would cause Bayern bosses to seriously ponder.
