It was a memorable evening in London for Brazilian starlet Estêvão. Introduced in the second half of the thrilling clash against Liverpool, the former Palmeiras forward struck the decisive goal in a 2-1 win, becoming the second-youngest player ever to score for Chelsea in Premier League history.

Since the league’s rebranding as the Premier League in the 1992/93 season, Finnish striker Mikael Forssell has remained the youngest scorer for the Blues, having found the net over two decades ago.

A national hero in Finland, Forssell joined Chelsea as a teenager from HJK Helsinki, making his English football debut against Arsenal on 31 January 1999.

Less than a month later, he opened his account in a 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest, aged just 17 years, 11 months, and six days.

With his goal against Liverpool, Estêvão moves ahead of Neil Shipperley and Carlton Cole in the club’s records, becoming the second-youngest Premier League goalscorer for Chelsea at 18 years, five months, and 11 days old.
