Roma defender Evan Ndicka sat alongside coach Gian Piero Gasperini during today’s pre-match press conference on the eve of Roma’s second Europa League fixture with Lille.
“Lille? I watch the French league a bit, I know Lille: they’re a good team, they’re fast up front, they’re strong. I’m fine, I’m training, I think I’ll be ready for Thursday.”
“I’m happy at Roma, I think all players are happy when they play. As I always say, defense is defense. I like playing on the more offensive side of the pitch, compared to the past. I’m here to grow. I feel good.”
“I feel good wherever the coach puts me. Every now and then in training we change positions, it’s normal. But I feel good where I am now. On the left, I run a little more, but there’s not a big difference.”
“Our objectives? It’s a little early for me to talk about it. Let’s see what happens with Lille. We’re doing well, we beat Nice. Tomorrow will be tough, we all know that. Let’s take it game by game.”
“Giroud? We don’t have a special plan. We know him, we know he’s always dangerous in the penalty area. It’ll be a great battle.”
“I already said after the match against Nice: we have attackers who defend well. This helps us in midfield and defensively. And then we have an excellent goalkeeper. We’re off to a good start, but it’s certainly not enough.”
