Jack Grealish has suffered a foot injury ahead of Everton’s meeting with Leeds United on Monday.
The club said in a statement that he is under the care of their medical team, will be reviewed by a specialist in the coming days and that further updates will follow.
The 30-year-old completed 90 minutes in the 1-0 win at Aston Villa on Sunday, his 20th Premier League appearance since joining on loan from Manchester City in the summer. He made his Toffees debut off the bench at Elland Road in August and has six assists and two goals.
Everton host the reverse of the opening-weekend fixture at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday, and it appears Grealish will not be involved.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is also out with a hamstring issue picked up against Chelsea late last year, and he and Grealish have contributed to 14 of Everton’s 24 Premier League goals. Jarrad Branthwaite remains sidelined with a season-long hamstring problem and Michael Keane is suspended for Monday, while Idrissa Gana Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye will return after African Cup of Nations success. Leeds will be without Jaka Bijol due to a hamstring injury, while Anton Stach, who missed the 1-0 win over Fulham, could return from an adductor strain in time for Monday.
