Signed from Sampdoria in 2017, Milan Skriniar grew to become one of Inter’s most influential figures.

Indeed, the Slovakian center-back established himself as one of Europe’s best defenders.

In addition to cementing his place in the starting iine-up, Skriniar earned the captain’s armband at San Siro.

Therefore, he lived a dream in Serie A.

However, his scintillating form for Inter didn’t go unnoticed.

As he was approaching the final year of his contract, foreign clubs, including PSG, began circling.

Despite his household status at Inter, Skriniar decided to cut ties with the Nerazzurri two years ago.

Instead, he chose a lucrative deal in Paris, which ultimately didn’t work out.

Frustrated with a lack of game time at PSG, Skriniar left France last winter.

Indeed, he joined Fenerbahce on loan before signing a permanent contract this summer.

Meanwhile, he recalls his difficult moments in Paris.

“I have wonderful memories of Inter and I often talk to the guys there,” Skriniar said. “I left many friends in Milan and parted on good terms with the club.

“But now I’m thinking about the future. I prefer to look ahead.

“I finally feel good and have put the back and ankle injuries behind me. Only injuries slowed me down.”

Then, he talked a bit about his transfer to Les Parisiens.

“PSG had already made an offer the year before,” he added. “Inter told me that if they didn’t receive an offer for another player in the squad, they would sell me.

“They wanted to bring in a player with different characteristics from mine. In the end, they didn’t manage to sign him and the club said they wouldn’t sell me anymore.

“I decided not to renew because I wanted to go to Paris. Not for the city, but for the ambition of the team, which was to win the Champions League.
