Fabrizio Romano: Manchester United ‘to keep’ Amad Diallo amid Newcastle interest

Fabrizio Romano said in a post that Manchester United have no intention of selling Amad Diallo this summer, despite links to Newcastle United, and that they plan to keep faith with the winger.

The stance, which was relayed to Diallo’s camp in June, would make any switch to St James’ Park highly unlikely.

The 24-year-old remains a favourite on Wearside after a stellar 2022-23 loan at Sunderland under Tony Mowbray. He scored 14 goals in all competitions as the team reached the Championship play-offs.

Since returning to Old Trafford, Diallo has gradually established himself as a regular first-team option.

Given his bond with Sunderland supporters, the notion of a move to Newcastle would shock many on Wearside. For now, the indication is that United intend to retain him.
