Ilia Gruev will miss the rest of the season after a meniscus injury, with Daniel Farke waiting on three Leeds United fitness doubts for Sunday’s Wembley FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea. Anton Stach, Jayden Bogle and Sebastiaan Bornauw are all under assessment.
As reported by yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Gruev damaged his knee in training this week and Farke expects the midfielder to be back for the start of pre-season.
Stach’s ankle problem came from an unpunished challenge in the box at West Ham United in the quarter-final, and he has not featured since. He is not yet in team training, and Farke says if he returns in the coming days he would have a chance to play.
Bogle took a heavy first-half tackle in the 2-2 draw at Bournemouth on Wednesday and was withdrawn at the break, with Joe Rodon introduced. The knock to his foot appears not too serious, but Leeds will wait to see how quickly he recovers and hope to have him available.
Bornauw rolled an ankle in the warm-up after an accidental clash with Facundo Buonanotte and missed half-time drills. He did not train with the group today, and Farke hopes he can rejoin tomorrow which would leave him in contention.
