FC Cascavel announce Corinthians friendly for World Cup break | OneFootball

A friendly between FC Cascavel and Corinthians is scheduled for 12 July at Estádio Olímpico Regional in Paraná, during the World Cup pause.

According to ge.globo, Corinthians will suspend activities at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava for 25 days, with the domestic calendar paused from 1 June to 20 July.

Tickets will be available from 15:00 on Saturday 16 May via Sou Mais Futebol, with prices still to be confirmed. Kick-off time is yet to be set, and Corinthians have not formally confirmed the fixture.

Corinthians last visited the venue on 27 March 2024, beating Londrina 3-0 before 11,574 fans, with two goals from Romero and one from Giovane.

It would be the first meeting between Corinthians and FC Cascavel, founded in 2008 and competing in the Campeonato Paranaense’s top flight in recent years.

Corinthians did face namesake Cascavel Esporte Clube on 12 November 1982 at the same ground, drawing 1-1 in a friendly. That club has been inactive since the late 1980s.

The squad’s holidays will begin after the Brasileirão trip to Grêmio on 30 May in Porto Alegre and run until 25 June. Their first official fixture after the World Cup has a provisional date of 22 July against Remo at Neo Química Arena, also in the league.
