Felipe Anderson: Palmeiras focused on title run, no distractions

Palmeiras defeated Juventude 2-0 on Sunday night (2nd) in the Brazilian Championship, at Alfredo Jaconi Stadium in Caxias do Sul. With a heavily rotated squad compared to the one that played against LDU, Bruno Rodrigues and Felipe Anderson scored the goals for Palmeiras. After the end of the match, Felipe highlighted the team's strong performance and spoke about focusing on the Brazilian league after qualifying for the final of the continental competition.

It’s the most beautiful goal I’ve scored for Palmeiras. We have to value the strength of the squad, everyone is prepared, and that makes a team that fights for the title. It wasn’t easy, after Thursday’s win, to come back and focus on the Brazilian league, but we can’t get distracted, we need to do our part.

Felipe Anderson scored the goal that sealed the score, deciding the match at the start of the second half. He received a perfectly placed pass from Bruno Fuchs, advanced with the ball, and fired a powerful shot into Jandrei’s top corner.

Palmeiras returns to the field next Thursday (6th), in a match against Santos for the 32nd round of the Brazilian Championship, at 9:30 p.m. (Brasília time), at Allianz Parque. Verdão leads the competition with 65 points, while Flamengo, in second place, has 64.
