Fernando Diniz cleared by CBF BID to debut for Corinthians against Platense | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Fernando Diniz was cleared on Tuesday in the CBF’s Boletim Informativo Diário (BID) and is eligible to debut for Corinthians.

He was unveiled on Tuesday at CT Joaquim Grava and has signed a contract running to December 2026.

He will be on the touchline on Thursday at 21:00 Brasília time against Platense in Buenos Aires, the opening round of the Conmebol Libertadores group stage.

His brief is to restore results and revive the level shown in the latter stages of last year’s Copa do Brasil, when Corinthians beat Vasco in the final, with Vasco then managed by Diniz.

The team, led by Dorival Júnior until last Sunday, are winless in nine and have endured a rocky spell this season. Organised supporters visited the training centre this week to demand improvements and protest at the team’s form.
