Barcelona have extended their unbeaten start to the 2025/26 La Liga season with a dominant 3-0 home win over Getafe.

Despite the frustration of having to play in front of a limited capacity crowd at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, Hansi Flick’s side responded positively, to move two points behind leaders Real Madrid.

On the back of a draining night in Newcastle, as Flick’s charges opened their UEFA Champions League campaign with a 2-1 win on Tyneside, the hosts were forced to rotate their options.

Those alterations worked perfectly as players with a point to prove to the manager combined throughout the night.

Dani Olmo’s clever back heel teed up Ferran Torres for the opening goal before the latter raced onto Raphinha’s hooked pass to make it 2-0 before the break.

A superb first 45 minutes work for Torres, who was started out wide on the left, in place of Marcus Rashford, to keep Robert Lewandowski in a central spot.

Olmo looked smooth as the No.10 and he got his reward for a solid performance on 62 minutes.

As Rashford replaced the booked Raphinha at half time, the England international showed his searing pace in the right channel, before sliding a weighted cutback for Olmo to slot home his first goal of the season.

Torres, Olmo and Rashford have all delivered a clear message of their involvement to the boss, and with a packed schedule incoming across all competitions, all three will be needed by Flick.

Up next for Barcelona is a midweek trip to Real Oviedo on September 25 as Getafe host Alaves three days before.

Barcelona remain unsure if they can return to the Camp Nou next month, with UEFA confirming their Champions League clash with PSG will not be played there on October 1, as the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys has already been confirmed as the venue.
