Josh Brownhill has been offered deals to secure a move away from Turf Moor, with the midfielder attracting plenty of interest.

Serie A teams Fiorentina and Lazio have both moved to try and sign Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill.

This is according to a report from TBR Football, who have also reiterated that Scottish Premiership rivals Celtic and Rangers are also keen on the Englishman, who is currently a key player at Turf Moor.

The Clarets triggered an extension option in Brownhill's contract during the summer to keep him for another year, but they don't have that option in 2025, and they will need to tie him down to fresh terms if they want to retain him beyond the end of this season.

Whether the club is promoted back to the Premier League could have some bearing on whether the Englishman puts pen to paper on fresh terms in Lancashire.

But even if they are promoted, Brownhill isn't guaranteed to put pen to paper on a new deal, and Scott Parker's side are in real danger of losing him.

English teams will have to wait until the summer if they want to sign him for free, but sides from other countries can offer him a pre-contract deal, and the Clarets will be powerless to prevent him from leaving Turf Moor if an agreement is struck.

It also means they would end up losing him for free.

According to TBR Football, both Fiorentina and Lazio have offered Brownhill a pre-contract deal, which isn't ideal news for the Clarets.

Burnley have offered their star midfielder a new deal as well, but he is yet to sign it and there is "pessimism" over whether he will put pen to paper on an extension.

Brentford, Crystal Palace, Everton, Leeds United and West Ham United are the English clubs interested in him, but they will need to wait until the summer to recruit him on a free.

North of the border, the Bhoys and the Gers are keen on a move for the experienced midfielder too, but they face a huge amount of competition for his signature.

Besiktas have held talks for Brownhill, and Bologna, Udinese and Trabzonspor are also interested in the player, who has continued to produce this season.

Brownhill may be a midfielder - but he is very useful in the final third and has played a key part in the Clarets' success this term.

Not only is he a good player to have at this level, but he is also a decent asset at the top level and this is a key reason why the Lancashire side will be keen to retain him.

Parker may end up struggling a bit if he ends up leaving, though a January exit seems unlikely, considering clubs could sign him for free in the summer.
