Flamengo's wait to secure the Brasileiro title will go on after they failed to beat Atlético Mineiro this evening.
The league leaders came into the night knowing that a win in Mineiro and a Palmeiras defeat at Grěmio would see them lift their eighth league title, but it was not to be Tuesday evening.
Despite Palmeiras losing in Porto Alegre, Flamengo could only manage a 1-1 draw with Atlético Mineiro, missing a massive opportunity to collect silverware before they take on Palmeiras in the Copa Libertadores final this weekend.
A late Bruno Henrique gave Filipe Luís' side some momentum in stoppage-time, but it was too-little, too-late in the end.

For now, the title chase is put on hold in Brazil, but the two sides will be back in league action next week in what should be the decisive matchday.
