Flamengo enter a decisive week to finalise reinforcements and update their Libertadores list before meeting Cruzeiro in the last 16.
According to Globo.com, the list must be filed by Saturday 8 August, 72 hours before the first leg, with up to five changes allowed by Conmebol.
From the 50 registered for the groups, Ryan Roberto and Da Mata have left. Kaio Nóbrega and Alan Santos are negotiating exits and should be removed.
Flamengo want reinforcements ready for 12 and 19. Talks for Thiago Almada are at a decisive point and could end either way early this week. He is prioritising River Plate, while Flamengo await a reply.
Leonardo Jardim has made a midfielder the main target, with a centre forward and a winger also sought. The club have concentrated on Almada before other moves and talks have dragged on.
With Copa do Brasil elimination, the staff will use a full week for training. The squad rested on Sunday and return on Monday morning at Ninho do Urubu, where Lucas Paquetá will speak.
Jardim’s tasks include restoring confidence and reuniting a group that had nine absences during the Copa period, and building fitness in those returning from injury.
Paquetá and Léo Ortiz are expected back at the weekend. Plata has right-knee tendinitis and Léo Pereira suffered an oedema in the draw with Internacional, both will be assessed daily.
Flamengo host Vitória at Maracanã on Sunday at 19:30 Brasília time. They are eight points behind Palmeiras, who lead with a game more.
