According to Globo.com, Flamengo supporters voiced their anger at recent results, staging a pre-match protest at the Maracanã on Sunday before the Campeonato Carioca semi-final against Madureira.

Some in the crowd chanted "time sem vergonha" and "queremos raça".

The unrest followed the 1-0 defeat to Lanús in Buenos Aires earlier this week, the first leg of the Recopa Sudamericana.

Filipe Luís's side have also lost the Supercopa do Brasil to Corinthians in Brasília, and suffered defeats to Fluminense in the Carioca and São Paulo in the Brasileirão.

At half-time, with the game goalless at 0-0, the protests resumed with cries of "time sem vergonha".
