Flamengo ‘to demand’ Kaio Jorge in deal to release Gonzalo Plata to Cruzeiro | OneFootball

Flamengo have told Cruzeiro they will only progress talks over a loan for Gonzalo Plata if Kaio Jorge is included in the agreement, O Globo reports.

The negotiations have gathered momentum in recent days, and the inclusion of Kaio Jorge has become the central issue, with Flamengo holding firm on that condition.

Gonzalo Plata has featured three times in the Brasileiro for Flamengo, while Kaio Jorge has played four for Cruzeiro. Under current rules, both could represent new clubs in the competition if deals are completed.

The CBF has raised the threshold for switching clubs from seven to 12 league appearances. The international window is closed, and the domestic market remains open until Friday 27.

Flamengo attempted to sign Kaio Jorge at the start of the year, but Cruzeiro rejected the approach. Cruzeiro then renewed the striker’s contract and set a €30m, R$ 181m, release clause from 2027, which suggests a departure could be possible next year.
