Flávio Rodrigues de Souza, the FIFA-listed São Paulo referee, has been appointed to take charge of Sunday’s derby between Corinthians and Palmeiras at Neo Química Arena, kick-off 18:30.
According to Globo.com, Alex Ang Ribeiro and Nailton Junior de Sousa will run the lines, with Fernando Nascimento Filho as fourth official and Daniel Nobre Bins in charge of VAR.
The Paulista official has already handled five Brasileiro matches in 2026. They were Mirassol 0-1 Red Bull Bragantino, Fluminense 1-0 Atlético-MG, Santos 1-1 Corinthians, Flamengo 2-0 Cruzeiro and Internacional 0-1 Athletico Paranaense.
He also oversaw the Campeonato Paulista final in March, when Palmeiras beat Novorizontino. Alongside Raphael Claus he is a leading name of the São Paulo federation, but unlike his colleague he will not be at the World Cup.
The Dérbi arrives with the clubs in contrasting positions. Palmeiras top the league on 25 points, five clear of the field. Corinthians have 10, two above Chapecoense, the first side in the relegation zone.
The sides have already met in Itaquera this season, a 1-0 Palmeiras win in the Campeonato Paulista. Flaco López scored the only goal.
