Former Barcelona star Vitor Roque is on fire in Brazil | OneFootball

A former member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is in the midst of a blistering spell of individual form at present.

The player in question? Vitor Roque.

Frontman Roque of course brought a permanent close to his short-lived and altogether forgetful Barcelona career earlier this year.

Just over a year on from arriving in Catalunya’s capital from Brazil, the youngster headed back to his home country, with Palmeiras.

Prior to this, Roque had already been farmed out on loan to Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis, after failing to sufficiently impress incoming Barca head coach Hansi Flick.

The 20-year-old did not exactly set the world alight from the off upon his return to Brazil, either, struggling to find his shooting boots in Palmeiras colours.

As alluded to above, though, over recent weeks, the situation has taken an altogether dramatic turn.

Across his last eight appearances in all competitions, Roque, remarkably, has racked up 11 direct goal contributions.

As much comes by way of seven goals and four assists, the latest a key strike against River Plate in the Copa Libertadores.
