HLN have revealed that Club Brugge are in talks with former Inter Milan and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Yann Sommer. The former Swiss international is a free agent after leaving Italian side Inter Milan this summer and with Simon Mignolet having retired, Club Brugge are looking for a new starting goalkeeper. It signals that the side clearly feel like just having Nordin Jackers as the starting goalkeeper is not enough and want to bring in competition, with the former Inter Milan and Bayern Munich goalkeeper certainly being one who could do just that. Sommer is said to be open to the move but there are other clubs interested in the former Inter Milan goalkeeper.

Prior to playing for Inter Milan and Bayern Munich, Sommer made a name for himself at Borussia Monchengladbach. During his time in the Bundesliga with the side he played over 300 games before joining Bayern Munich in 2023. Sommer only spent a few months with Bayern Munich, replacing Manuel Nuer for a period of 25 games. In the summer of 2023 he joined Inter Milan, leaving this past summer with 139 appearances and two Serie A titles. Sommer has been Inter Milan’s number one for the past three seasons and played 47 games last campaign.
