Major League Soccer has imposed lifetime bans on former Los Angeles FC players Yaw Yeboah and Derrick Jones for betting on league matches, including games involving their own teams.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the breaches occurred across the 2024 and 2025 seasons, with both wagering on 19 October 2024 that Jones would be shown a yellow card, which came to pass.

MLS determined they shared confidential information with third parties regarding intentions to trigger bookings.

The league has not found evidence that these actions altered the result of any match.

Yeboah previously played in Spain for Real Oviedo, Numancia and Celta de Vigo B.
