Former Real Madrid star to join José Mourinho’s staff | OneFootball

A former member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is primed to return to the club this summer, in a new role.

This comes amid the understanding that Sami Khedira has agreed to join José Mourinho’s coaching staff in Spain’s capital.

Mourinho was of course named as the tactician primed to lead Real Madrid into a new era earlier this week. The Portuguese, in turn, has already set about reinforcing his playing squad, fresh off a deal being tied up for Marc Cucurella on Sunday.

And as alluded to above, ‘Mou’ is also hard at work to add to the staff set to surround him on the touchline at the Santiago Bernabéu next season.

As per a report from The Athletic:

‘Former Germany midfielder Sami Khedira is expected to join Jose Mourinho’s coaching staff at Real Madrid.’

Midfielder Khedira, whose planned role on Mourinho’s staff is currently unclear, spent time plying his trade under the watch of the iconic Portuguese manager in Madrid from 2010 to 2013.
