The Federação Paulista de Futebol announced in a directive on Monday night that Corinthians are authorised to stage night fixtures at Fazendinha, in Parque São Jorge.

In recent weeks the club spent about R$ 450,000 upgrading the ground’s lighting.

With the approval now in place, the professional women's team and youth sides can play at Parque São Jorge without relocating to other stadiums such as Canindé and Neo Química Arena.

Fazendinha holds about 10,000 spectators, and returning home for evening games cuts matchday costs for the club.

Use of the stadium for other events, not limited to football, has not been ruled out.
