The manager was a bit coy about his side's plans for the remaining days of the window.
Frank Lampard has given a very vague rendition of Coventry City's transfer plans for the final couple of weeks of the summer window.
Even though it's been a relatively quiet summer at the CBS Arena, especially in recent weeks, their transfer window has by no means been a bad one.
All of their top players remain at the club, they've made a few additions to boost the quality in certain areas, and, overall, it's a very settled side.
If anyone is to leave, Jack Rudoni feels the most likely candidate. Football League World exclusively revealed that Coventry have put a £15 million price tag on the central midfielder after Southampton had an initial offer for the 24-year-old rejected.
FLW also exclusively revealed that Coventry are interested in Manchester City defender Callum Doyle. Other second tier sides, including Wrexham, Norwich City and Leicester City, are also believed to be keen on signing the centre-half.
Speaking ahead of this Saturday's early kick-off against Derby County, Lampard didn't reveal much about any possible incomings or outgoings from the CBS Arena before the 1 September deadline for deals.
"I’m not confident but I’m not, not confident," said the manager, via Coventry Live, on his side's chances of adding new faces to the group.
"You’re going to try every week but I don’t have an answer for you. And I don’t want to tell you something that’s not going to happen if it’s another player or another team.
"You’re probably going to hate me and say that I’m playing a difficult game, but I can’t say what isn’t here, you know."
It's a time in the season that Lampard admitted he doesn't enjoy. With the season having already started, he'd rather have a set squad than begin the season with a different set of players to the one he might end the window with.
"I don’t enjoy it dragging into the start of the season. I know it probably has to for different start times for everybody and all these things.
"But I don’t enjoy that and I think as a coach, I don’t think there’s anyone who really would say that they prefer to wait on what their own squad may be three weeks into the season, as opposed to knowing what it is earlier and getting that consistency at work.
"You want to work [with new players] from pre-season all the way through but it’s the reality of it, though, so we can’t complain too much."
One player who could be on the move is Norman Bassette, although his reported loan move to Dutch side FC Utrecht is now stuck due to Coventry's high buy-option demands.
Bassette, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Ellis Simms make up, arguably, the weak point of City's team; they don't have that outstanding, goalscoring focal point in attack.
The lack of this is made up by the goal contributions that they get from elsewhere on the pitch, but that is not a reason not to be in the market for a top number nine.
Having a consistent threat in the box would give Coventry a much improved chance of finally achieving the Premier League dreams that they have come so close to over the past few seasons.
