Corinthians’ 2026 has swung between a trophy win and domestic stumbles, with 37 matches played before the World Cup pause. According to Globo.com, the campaign has produced a short list of standouts and several disappointments.
Under Dorival Júnior, now at rivals São Paulo, they won the Supercopa do Brasil against Flamengo in Brasília in February. Soon after they exited the Campeonato Paulista in the semi-final to Novorizontino.
After a winless run and a poor Brasileirão start, Dorival departed, replaced by Fernando Diniz. With Diniz, they improved in the Conmebol Libertadores group stage and gathered key league points to reach the break outside the relegation zone.
The highlights include Gustavo Henrique, Rodrigo Garro, Matheus Bidu, Breno Bidon and Raniele.
The major let-downs include Yuri Alberto, Memphis Depay, André Carrillo, Matheus Pereira and André Ramalho.
