According to Leeds Live, Fulham will be without three Nigeria internationals, including Alex Iwobi, for Saturday’s trip to Leeds United after their country reached the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals.
Centre-back Calvin Bassey, midfielder Alex Iwobi and winger Samuel Chukwueze will not return this week after Nigeria beat Algeria 2-0, setting up a last-four tie with hosts Morocco on Wednesday.
Nigeria’s progress means the trio will not be back in club action until next week even if they lose, with a third-place play-off scheduled for Saturday.
Between them they have started 34 Premier League matches, contributing five goals and six assists. Leeds summer target Rodrigo Muniz remains out after November hamstring surgery and is not due back until late February.
Marco Silva’s side have maintained form regardless. Their 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough extended an unbeaten run to six in all competitions, which includes a 2-2 draw with Liverpool and a 2-1 win against Chelsea.
Fulham, ninth in the Premier League, could welcome back Joshua King and Kenny Tete this weekend if recovery goes to plan.
Leeds have two concerns following Sunday’s 3-1 FA Cup win at Derby County, in which Sean Longstaff and Sam Byram returned from injury for their first minutes in some time.
Sebastiaan Bornauw was withdrawn at half-time with a suspected adductor issue, though Daniel Farke does not believe it is serious. Daniel James remains sidelined with a hamstring problem and is not expected to resume training until later this month.
