Santos beat Vitória 3-1 at Estádio Urbano Caldeira to climb from 17th to 15th in the Brasileirão, with Miguel Terceros and Álvaro Barreal on target before Gabriel Barbosa struck and later saw red.

Terceros opened the scoring in the 19th minute, whipping a left-footer from outside the box into the top of the net after Christian Oliva's pass.

After the restart, Barreal thumped in from the left (54.), and Gabi glanced in a close-range header from Terceros' cross (56.). Moments later VAR upgraded Gabi's caution to a straight red (60.).

Leão da Barra kept coming. First half substitute Diego Tarzia delivered a fine cross for Renê to pull one back with a header (74.), and the forward hit the bar late on as the visitors pressed.

Peixe were ultra-clinical, scoring three times from four shots on target across five attempts. Leão da Barra fired 22 efforts and forced eight saves from Gabriel Brazão as they dominated territory but found the goalkeeper in inspired form.
