Gabriel Gudmundsson has moved to ease Leeds United concerns after taking a knee knock while on Sweden duty.

"It's the same as always. Take care of your body and make sure you're ready for Tuesday. Of course, I wanted to [play on], but it was a trade-off and it felt good," he told the Sweden Herald.

The left-back started as Sweden beat Ukraine 3-1 in Thursday's World Cup play-off semi-final, Viktor Gyokeres scoring a hat-trick to set up a meeting with Poland on Tuesday.

Midway through the second half, the defender took a knock to his knee. He tried to continue before making way for Daniel Svensson.

Leeds will take encouragement from his upbeat assessment, with four days to recover before he hopes to be involved again. Sweden are 90 minutes and a victory from this summer's World Cup.

"It means an incredible amount, not just to us but to everyone else as well. There are a lot of positives to take away from this match. We will take that feeling with us."

Gudmundsson later posted on social media, sharing an Instagram story captioned: "1 more to go".
