Galatasaray failed with a January move for Barcelona star | OneFootball

A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was the subject of intense winter interest on the part of Galatasaray.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Pau Víctor as the player in question.

Frontman Víctor of course saw his Barcelona future thrown somewhat up in the air last month.

This came as both the Spaniard and teammate Dani Olmo all of a sudden found themselves unregistered for the 2nd half of the campaign.

In the end, the issue was sorted, with Joan Laporta and co. having managed to put the necessary financial parameters in place to satisfy the courts.

As alluded to above, though, prior to as much, Galatasaray were more than keen on Víctor’s services.

As per Sport, the Turkish heavyweights attempted to take advantage of the sudden uncertainty surrounding the 23-year-old’s future, by way of a January deal for his signature.

Víctor, though, made clear throughout that his priority was to stay put and battle for a more prominent role in Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad.
