The 18th round was the last action before the World Cup pause, and focus now shifts to mid-season recruitment as many players remain eligible to switch within Série A after fewer than 13 matches.

According to Globo.com, a new Brasileirão rule has doubled the internal transfer threshold from six to 12 appearances, leaving a sizeable pool of candidates even after 18 rounds.

Headline names under the mark include Neymar, Arrascaeta and Danilo, all set for the World Cup. Others could also move given context, with Cebolinha short of minutes at Flamengo and Cano in a similar situation at Fluminense.

Some players have sat out recent matches to avoid triggering the limit, notably Danilo and Ganso. Hulk, who is not on the list, also stopped being selected and has already moved from Atlético-MG to Fluminense.

The names span the division, from Athletico-PR and Atlético-MG to Bahia, Botafogo, Bragantino, Chapecoense, Corinthians, Coritiba, Cruzeiro, Flamengo, Fluminense, Grêmio, Internacional, Mirassol, Palmeiras, Remo, Santos, São Paulo, Vasco and Vitória.

The second transfer window runs from 20 July to 11 September, with the league resuming on 22 July. Signings made during the World Cup can feature from the 19th round, the first after the break.
