Barcelona secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Getafe in La Liga on Sunday night at Estadi Johan Cruyff.

Ferran Torres was the star of the show, bagging a brace, while Dani Olmo was also on target for the home team.

After the game, Ferran was critical of Getafe and their style of play, with regular fouls and time-wasting, and strong challenges.

“We knew it was going to be a tough match. They often don’t offer anything, committing a lot of fouls and disrupting the pace of the game,” said Ferran.

Jose Bordalas hits back

Speaking to the press after the defeat, Getafe manager Jose Bordalas, who claimed himself to be a ‘Cruyffista’ before the game, lashed out at Ferran’s comments, terming them ‘disrespectful’.

“It’s a very biased opinion because the difference is 1 billion. Barça is a team that has two players of a very high level in each position, who can combine and counterattack. It’s disrespectful to make that comment,” said Bordalas, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

Explaining Barça’s dominance on the night, Bordalas said: “We knew it was one of the toughest matches due to the level of the opponent and the form they’re in.

“In the most important moments, they were far superior, and we lost a match that was within the normal range.”

Reiterating his comments from earlier about Barcelona’s superiority, the Getafe boss noted:

“They have two top-level players in each position, plenty of options, they can combine, play into space, counterattack, in short, however they want and with whatever formation they want.

“And we’re very limited this year, and we’re doing what we can, like today.”

Bordalas also stood by his actions on the touchline, when he asked Raphinha to be shown a second yellow card, saying:

“One of ours was booked, and then Raphinha pushed a player. I don’t know the level, but usually those actions are punished with a yellow card.”
