Gian Piero Gasperini is set to remain at Roma regardless of the club’s final standing this season, despite growing speculation surrounding the stability of the current project.

According to TMW, the Friedkin ownership held a technical meeting with the club’s management following Roma’s Europa League exit at the hands of Bologna. During the summit, the owners made it clear that securing a fourth-placed finish in Serie A will be the deciding factor for the direction of the project moving forward.

While the ownership warned that shocking decisions could be made regarding the squad and front office if Champions League qualification is not achieved, Gasperini’s position is safe. The management intends to maintain continuity on the bench, viewing the veteran tactician as the right figure to lead the team into the next campaign, even if a significant reshuffle occurs elsewhere within the club hierarchy.

There had been doubts about the Italian and his relationship with Claudio Ranieri but that idea seems out of the question now.
