Grêmio intend to streamline their squad further, with talks under way over midfielder Cristaldo and more exits could be decided in the coming days. The club have negotiated exits for 19 players between late 2025 and early 2026.

According to Globo.com, Grêmio plan to push discussions early next week, while the interested club remains undisclosed. Any departure for Cristaldo would be via this negotiation.

He has not played since seven February, when he started the win over Novo Hamburgo and was withdrawn at half-time. He was then on the bench for the draw with Juventude in the first match of the Gauchão semi-final. In the Brasileirão, he was only named for the defeat to Fluminense in the first round.

Behind the scenes, the club are working toward a final wave of departures. Forward Aravena has a loan agreed to Portland Timbers of MLS. Grêmio could also advance a termination with midfielder Cuéllar, who is expected to leave in the near future, and last week Edenilson agreed with Botafogo.

The board believe the strong start to the year allowed a fair assessment of the squad and clarified who fits the project aligned with the coaching staff. That process has informed recent exits.

Renowned names Kannemann and Cuéllar have been used sparingly by Luís Castro, each featuring only once. Defender Luís Eduardo, promoted this year, and midfielder Riquelme, elevated last year, have also played one match.
