Guido Rodríguez and Unai Núñez take part in first Valencia training | OneFootball

Guido Rodríguez and Unai Núñez completed their first training session with Valencia on Monday, as reported by Superdeporte, adding two reinforcements for the decisive stage of the season.

Núñez’s move was made official on Friday night. The 27-year-old defender joins from Hellas Verona on loan from Celta de Vigo until the end of the season after a consistent first half in Serie A. He was in the Mestalla stands to watch the league game against Espanyol.

Rodríguez’s signing was announced as the evening session began. He arrives on a permanent deal after Valencia reached an agreement with West Ham, although it currently runs only until 30 June.

A 2022 world champion with Argentina and a key figure at Betis before his Premier League spell, Rodríguez bolsters a midfield hit by absences and inconsistency in recent weeks.

Both worked normally at the Ciutat Esportiva with the players who did not start the 3-2 win over Espanyol. It was the first session building towards Sunday’s meeting with Real Betis, a special occasion for Rodríguez given his past there, and Betis have a significant list of absences for 1 February.

Both are in perfect physical condition to make their debuts on the next matchday and contribute immediately. Their futures at Valencia are not secured beyond the 17 league matches remaining and whatever the Copa del Rey brings.
