Gustavo Gómez is now Palmeiras' most decorated player after Sunday's 2-1 win over Grêmio Novorizontino sealed the 2026 Campeonato Paulista. The victory delivered his 13th trophy for the club.
According to Nosso Palestra, the Paraguayan centre-back moved clear of Weverton, Marcos Rocha, Mayke, Dudu, and club greats Ademir da Guia and Junqueira, who each had 12.
His honours include Libertadores in 2020 and 2021, the Recopa Sudamericana in 2022, and the Brasileirão in 2018, 2022 and 2023. He also won the Copa do Brasil in 2020, the Supercopa do Brasil in 2023, and Paulista titles in 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2026.
Gómez now has 10 trophies as Palmeiras captain, extending his lead in the club’s records. Ademir da Guia, César Sampaio and Junqueira follow with seven each.
He has worn the armband permanently since Felipe Melo’s departure in 2022 under Abel Ferreira.
This latest triumph is his fifth state crown with Palmeiras, placing him second on the club’s list for the tournament. He shares that mark with Raphael Veiga, who featured earlier in the campaign before leaving for América-MÉX.
The Paulistão final also moved him to 16 finals contested for Palmeiras, matching Veiga for the most in the club’s history. He has played 363 matches for the Verdão, surpassing former goalkeeper Marcos to sit third among players with most games for Palmeiras this century.
