Gustavo Henrique and Memphis return for Corinthians at Athletico-PR, squad named | OneFootball

Gustavo Henrique and Memphis Depay are back in the Corinthians squad for Thursday’s trip to Athletico-PR.

According to Globo.com, head coach Dorival Júnior has selected 24 players for the second-round Campeonato Brasileiro match at Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, kick-off 19:30 Brasília time.

The pair were rested for the Paulistão game against São Bernardo on Sunday. Midfielder Matheus Pereira also returns after serving a suspension in the state competition.

Corinthians have four injury absentees: Hugo, recovering from surgery on the right knee lateral meniscus, Kaio César with a right hamstring issue, Breno Bidon in physical transition, and Yuri Alberto with a grade two left hamstring injury. Fabrizio Angileri is still building fitness after agreeing with Corinthians, so he is also unavailable.

A likely XI features Hugo Souza in goal, Matheuzinho, Gabriel Paulista, Gustavo Henrique and Matheus Bidu in defence, Raniele or Allan, Matheus Pereira and Carrillo or Rodrigo Garro in midfield, and Kayke, Memphis Depay and Pedro Raul or Gui Negão in attack.

The delegation arrived in Curitiba late on Wednesday afternoon and were greeted by supporters outside the team hotel. Corinthians have three points from two matches and sit 12th in the Brasileirão.
