Man City star open to future US switch but stays committed to Premier League ambitions

Norwegian striker Erling Haaland's sparked widespread debate after expressing openness to future move to Major League Soccer MLS citing inspiration from Lionel Messi & David Beckham.

"No one knows what the future holds"

In recent interview with TIME Magazine, Haaland was asked whether he could envision himself in MLS one day.

His response:

"No one knows what the future holds. What Messi's doing now is incredible and what Beckham did before him ... it's amazing"

Despite the comments, the 25 year old Man City star emphasized that he's fully focused on his current club highlighting unfinished business in the PL & Champions league.

Haaland won’t rule out a move to Major League Soccer in the U.S., à la Messi and Beckham, after his Man City deal is done. “You never know what the future is going to bring,” says Haaland. “What Messi is doing now is incredible. Also what Beckham did, it’s amazing”

Since joining Man City Haaland's scored 124 goal in 146 appearances including 85 Premier League goals in just 3 season.

He's played major role in City’s domestic and European success establishing himself as one of the most dominant strikers in the club’s history.

Although Haaland insists "now isn't the time for big change" his openness to potential move fuels speculation that MLS could be his post peak destination.
