Marseille look set to appoint Habib Beye as manager.

Beye had been lined up to succeed Roberto De Zerbi, but plans wobbled when sporting director Medhi Benatia announced his resignation. On Tuesday, owner Frank McCourt reversed that, confirming Benatia would remain with an expanded remit.

Romain Molina reports that these changes will ensure Beye’s arrival on the bench.

Foot Mercato says that, in a meeting with the squad, McCourt told players he has met the club’s next manager, believed to be Beye, the leading target.

Beye was dismissed by Stade Rennais the day before De Zerbi left, and terms of his departure are still being negotiated, with completion anticipated today.

Talks between Marseille and Beye are expected on Tuesday, with the coach already in the city.
