Leeds United Under-21s maintained their 100 per cent start to the Premier League International Cup campaign with a 2-0 victory over Athletic Club B.

Goals after the break from Alfie Cresswell and Logan White fired Scott Gardner’s side to victory, leaving attacker Harvey Vincent pleased after the full-time whistle to have beaten quality opposition.

“It was a difficult test,” the 18-year-old told LUTV. “We knew it would be going into the game but I thought the boys really dug deep to get a clean sheet and get the win.

“It was something we focused on in the prep, sort of finding their weak side and then catching them in the transition.

“So, I knew coming into the game there was going to be plenty of opportunities. Disappointed not to score one in the first half and hit the post but at least we got the win.

“We play different teams every week. We come up against the senior sides and it is a physical battle.

“We come up against teams like this that technically are unbelievable, so it is good to play different teams week in, week out. It is great for our development.”

Attentions now turn to next week’s trip to FC Halifax Town in the National League Cup, a clash Vincent is looking forward to.

“Playing against a men’s side, it is a really good opportunity to sort of impress people and do well as a team against a senior side.”
