According to Defensa Central, it has come to light that Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has made it clear where he would like to play in the future.

It must be noted that while interest from Liverpool and Barcelona has been reported, Guehi has privately admitted that his dream move would be to Real Madrid.

The defender’s contract with Crystal Palace runs until 2026, meaning he can start negotiating with other clubs from January 2026.

In England, the general belief is that Liverpool are leading the race, as they view him as a potential replacement for Ibrahima Konate.

But the situation could take a different turn if Konate renews his contract at Anfield.

In that case, Guehi, who is also wanted by Barcelona and Bayern Munich, has told those close to him that he would prefer to “go to Real Madrid.”

This has already reached Juni Calafat and the Madrid hierarchy, who are now evaluating the situation.

Signing him would depend on how the Konate situation develops, as the French defender remains the priority target.

Real Madrid weigh their options

For now, Real Madrid’s first choice is still Konate. The problem, however, is that Liverpool made it clear in the summer that they were not willing to sell him, and the same stance is expected in the winter transfer window.

Konate is an important starter, and Liverpool have no plans to weaken their squad mid-season.

Real Madrid are also cautious about spending big in the market. The club’s stance is that they will not make any rushed or extravagant moves.

Any January transfer business will depend on how the team performs in the coming months.

Solutions within the team

Aside from Guehi and Konate, Real Madrid are also monitoring internal solutions. Joan Martinez and Diego Aguado are highly regarded within the club and could soon earn a chance with the first team.

Additionally, Jacobo Ramon, currently impressing at Como, is another option Madrid are following closely.

Despite a permanent transfer, Real Madrid have kept the buy-back option in his deal with the Italian side.

For Guehi, though, the preference is already set. If Liverpool is not an option, his desire is to wear the famous white shirt of Real Madrid.
