Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad made use of the opportunity to send a message of support and encouragement to a sidelined teammate on Thursday evening.

The player in question? Gavi.

Midfielder Gavi is for his part of course fresh off being condemned to a fresh long-term spell on the sidelines.

After a follow-up surgery on the knee in which he previously suffered an ACL tear proved to be more invasive than initially hoped, the 21-year-old was condemned to between four and five months out of action.

This news is understood to have hit Gavi – one of the most passionate players in all of Spanish football – understandably hard.

Tributes and messages of encouragement, in turn, have since come pouring in for the youngster from across the world of football.

And as alluded to above, on Thursday evening, Gavi’s teammates did their part in lifting the spirits of the Spaniard, too.

This came by way of specialised warm-up shirts ahead of their La Liga meeting with Real Oviedo, reading:
