Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé moved to defend teammate Vinícius Jr. amid fresh fan backlash on Saturday.

Los Blancos were of course back in action earlier today, welcoming Levante to Spain’s capital for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, Álvaro Arbeloa secured his first three points as Real Madrid boss, courtesy of a 2-0 triumph.

The hosts’ eventual win, however, was soured by the scenes in the stands at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Fresh off their side’s back-to-back defeats at the hands of Barcelona and Albacete, the Blancos faithful took firm aim at the club’s players on Saturday.

The aforementioned Vinícius Jr. was amongst those most heavily targeted, with boos, whistles and jeers.

This comes amid long-standing tensions between the Brazilian and his side’s supporters.

As alluded to above, though, quick to attempt to defend his out-of-form teammate from the backlash was none other than Kylian Mbappé.

After hearing one particularly heavy round of boos being directed at Vinícius, frontman Mbappé was spotted waving his finger in disapproval at the crowd:
