Barcelona may not have taken home the Ballon d’Or, but the club had a respectable finish in the event both as a team and in terms of individual players’ placements.
A lot has been said about the positions of Raphinha and Pedri, both of whom finished significantly lower than initially anticipated.
The highlight, however, was Lamine Yamal who finished second on the race only behind Ousmane Dembele, all at the young age of 18.
It was Dembele who took home the prestigious individual accolade earlier this week, and now the exact margin of his win over Yamal has come to light via the official points-wise results published by France Football.
The former Barcelona star finished on 1380 points compared to Yamal, who stood second with 1059 points, and only 321 points separated the winner and the runner-up.

Raphinha, who finished fifth, earned just 620 points, which does no justice to the season he enjoyed for Barcelona.
He was, after all, the top scorer in the UEFA Champions League and ahead of both Dembele and Yamal in terms of goals and assists.
Pedri Gonzalez, who shockingly finished in 11th place, had 124 points. Notably, he was over ten points behind tenth-placed Nuno Mendes.
The fourth Barcelona nominee, Robert Lewandowski, ended up 17th with only 49 points.
What one can conclude from the official results’ breakdown, thus, is that the race between Dembele and Yamal was not as close as it was expected to be.
Barcelona will also pay attention to the surprisingly low tallies of Pedri and Raphinha despite them playing a pioneering role in the team’s success last season.
