FLW takes a look at how much Capology estimated Kalvin Phillips to be earning each week while at Manchester City.
Sheffield United signed Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City on deadline day, as the midfielder looks to revive his career following an incredibly difficult spell in the north-west.
It's been three-and-a-half years since the 30-year-old left Leeds United to move to the Ethiad Stadium, with the two clubs agreeing a deal worth around £45m. He signed a six-year contract at City, but he has made just 32 appearances and is yet to impress Pep Guardiola.
Therefore, a move to the Championship could be the perfect way for Phillips to get his career back on track and show the levels that he did while with the Whites. His experience at this level is clear to see, and he has won promotion from the division before.
He could be an extremely shrewd signing for Sheffield United, and Football League World has taken a look at how much the midfielder was estimated to be earning in the Premier League with Manchester City.
Phillips moved to City after an impressive season in the Premier League with Leeds, and he had started to become a regular in Gareth Southgate's England squad.

However, he was going from being the star player at a club whose ambitions were focused entirely on survival in the top flight, to one that was targeting every single trophy available to them. It was huge pressure, and with that came a substantial wage.
According to Capology's estimates, Phillips earned £105,000-a-week while at Manchester City. This is more than the likes of James Trafford and Jeremy Doku, and it will not come as a surprise to see the 2023 Champions League winners get him off their books.
The website has also calculated that Sheffield United are paying £45,000 of that weekly wage themselves as they look to climb the Championship table.
The last few years have been incredibly difficult for Phillips, and despite a loan spell at Ipswich Town in the Premier League last season, he has been forced to drop back into the second tier this time around.
Manchester City will be keen to part ways with the midfielder in the summer, but after spending £45m on him originally, they also need to recoup as much of that fee as possible. However, it would be a huge surprise to see them win out in any potential transfer negotiation.

For Phillips, this is an opportunity to prove to clubs both at home and abroad that he still has what it takes to perform at the top level, and significant minutes for Sheffield United will help with this.
A move to Italy could prove to be the best for all parties in the summer, with a number of British players having a huge amount of success in Serie A in recent years and this could be his chance to show his class.
